👉 What is the most important thing for you when working with a Recruiter?

For me, one of the key values is trust and being able to rely on the fact that we both understand hiring in the same way. Openness, transparency, regular communication on how the hiring is going, how good the candidates are, whether we are looking for a "superman", and feedback from the market.

Then in the selection phase, I expect the recruiter to ask deeper questions that go after the "hidden answers" rather than just ask a question, settle for the answer, check it off the list, and move on. By doing this together, we are better able to discover whether or not the person really has the right qualifications.

👉 What would you need from a Recruiter to help you with hiring effectively?

Definitely to know my team very well, and to know the profile of the candidate we are looking for. The basic skills and character traits we need. We need to clarify together whether we are looking for a junior or a medior, whether they should be independent, or whether we have the ability to guide and mentor him in something. What kind of character and soft skills they should have to fit in with the team?

And last but not least, the ability to rely on being able to effectively "sort through" candidates in the first round. This way, I only meet really good candidates in the second round who meet our set criteria. This is an absolutely crucial role for recruitment because it saves me time.

👉 Can you remember a Recruiter that was really great to work with? What were they like? Why was it that you enjoyed the collaboration?

I have to say that I had a great time working with Martin Bolek, Zuzka Bakis, and Terka Černosková. Together we always sat down and made a job ad with the requirements for the candidate, which we then checked during the interviews. I especially appreciated the ability to ask in-depth questions, not to be satisfied with a first general answer, and to ask about the actual use of that skill in practice. An answer like "I am a team player" or "I can manage projects well" is absolutely worthless without deeper inquiry.

Then again, what I appreciate very much about all recruiters are our debriefings that we have where we all go over our thoughts and questions, look for commonalities and differences, and discuss what we've noted. At this stage, I want someone to challenge my opinion, to play the devil's advocate so that I can eliminate as much as possible any of my emotional preferences that may have arisen during the interview and we are able to come to the most rational decision possible.

👉 What is the most important thing for you when working with a Recruiter?

It’s definitely the kick-off meeting, where we determine exactly what kind of person we need. If we need to replace someone or add capacity, we know exactly what kind of person we need, whether technically oriented or a caring administrator, depending on what the current need is and what type of work is currently taking up most of our time. When interviewing, the most important thing is to be on the same page, briefing before and after the interview, setting the next steps, and sharing views and thoughts from the process.

👉 What would you need from a Recruiter to help you with hiring effectively?

I need the recruiter's interest and willingness to spend at least one week working and being present on my team. The recruiter needs to know how the team works, know what personalities to find in it, be able to better describe our job description to candidates, and be able to anticipate which candidate would fit in the team. Based on this experience, the recruiter is faster and more efficient in selecting a candidate.

👉 Can you remember a Recruiter that was really great to work with? What were they like? Why was it that you enjoyed the collaboration?

I remember all the recruiters but I will mention the last recruitment that was led by Monika Kratochvílová. Monika fulfilled all of the above I mentioned and the expectations I had for her. I am convinced, and I am still enthusiastic about this collaboration, which was successful even in hindsight, that this is the right way to go for my team and therefore I would take the same approach on the next occasion. It makes the work easier.
